A Message from the CEO

April 2nd, 2020

CEO Introduction

Dear Paradigm Associates:

I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Phil Mahaney and as many of you know, I am the company’s new CEO. First and foremost, I would like to thank Mark Moran for his valuable guidance and leadership as the interim CEO. Mark did a tremendous job of leading the business as Paradigm searched for a CEO.

I am very excited to join the Paradigm team. I have been impressed with all of the people I have had the pleasure of interacting with. As well, I am encouraged by the company’s commitment to quality and service coupled with a great product portfolio. Although we are facing some challenging times ahead as we work through the COVID 19 pandemic, I remain confident and encouraged by the company’s future successes.

I have been in the building products industry for over 20 years now. Most of my time has been in Glass, Windows, and Doors. I love this business and the unique opportunities it presents. My philosophy on the building products business is simple, “Take care of your people and your customers, and they will take care of the rest”. I believe in respect for everyone who works for us and providing our customers with the best service possible. Over the years I have found this to be a recipe for success.

The main overarching priorities I feel are important to always guide our decisions are as follows:

  1. Safety – Our people are our most important asset and we need to keep them safe. We must always approach every task with Safety at the top of our minds. We must always look out for each other and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment both in the plant and in the field.
  2. Quality – Do it right the first time every time. Take the extra few seconds to ensure our work is correct and meets the needs of both our internal and external customers. This is not limited to products. The quality of our processes is just as important to the business and building the best quality windows and doors.
  3. Customer Service – Always go the extra mile to take care of our customers. Make sure their needs are met on-time and completely. If we make a mistake, let’s fix it quickly and accurately. We want to be “Easy to do business with”
  4. Waste Reduction – We always need to be on the lookout for waste in our processes. We must reduce errors, utilize all of our resources with minimal waste, and be as efficient as possible.

I know many of you are concerned about the COVID 19 pandemic. There is a lot we don’t know yet as these are unprecedented times we are dealing with. The Leadership Team has been meeting regularly and focusing on several aspects of managing through the issue. The team is focused on:

  • Keeping our people and our customers safe
  • Staying updated on all changes in regulations and recommendations by authorities to minimize the spread of the virus
  • Contingency planning for unexpected disruptions to our business and being ready to react quickly to fluctuations in our supply chain
  • Continuing to ensure the company remains in a position to overcome the current challenges and continue to grow the company once the economy beings to recover.

In closing, I would like to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication to make Paradigm a success. I know these times are difficult, but we will overcome them together and be stronger in the end.

Sincerely,

Phil Mahaney
